Preemptive Mouse Treatment and Monitoring — Detached Home, Burlington

Job Overview

Location: Burlington, Ontario
Structure: Detached two story house
Problem: Previous mouse activity reported; preemptive inspection and treatment requested
Service: Mice control
Visits: 2

Summary

Our team completed a preemptive mouse inspection and treatment following reports of past activity. The work focused on verifying current conditions, treating interior and exterior risk areas, and monitoring results across two visits. No ongoing activity was observed by the second visit.

Background / Property Context

The property is a detached, two-story residential home. Work was completed in September with no weather-related limitations affecting access or inspection.

Customer Concern

The homeowner reported prior mouse activity inside the house and requested a preemptive inspection and treatment to prevent recurrence.

Inspection & Findings

During the initial visit, the exterior was inspected for potential entry points along the foundation and building envelope. Interior areas commonly associated with rodent activity were also assessed. No active exterior entry points were confirmed at the time of inspection.

Cause Analysis

Mouse activity in residential homes commonly occurs due to seasonal movement toward indoor shelter and accessible food sources. Even when exterior openings are not immediately visible, mice can exploit small gaps or previous vulnerabilities. Preemptive treatment is often requested after prior activity to reduce the likelihood of re-entry.

Treatment / Removal

A licensed exterminator completed interior and exterior mouse treatment during the first visit. Tamper-resistant bait stations were placed in areas of higher risk in accordance with Ontario Ministry of the Environment guidelines. The stations contained commercial-grade rodenticide intended for repeated feeding. No exclusion work was completed during this visit; an exclusion quote was provided separately.

Exclusion & Repairs

No exclusion or repair work was carried out during the service visits.

Outcome & Confirmation

By the second visit, the homeowner reported no further interior mouse activity and confirmed satisfaction with the results of the treatment. No additional action was required at that time.

Technician Notes

The initial inspection and treatment were completed by Shaohua. Exterior foundation areas were visually checked, and interior treatment was applied as a preventative measure. Follow-up confirmed the absence of ongoing activity.
